香港只是一個人口七百萬的彈丸之地，但香港人每日平均卻製造了1.5萬噸固體垃圾，當中大部分都被送去了堆填區，而堆填區快將無力應付更多棄置物，所以從源頭減廢以及回收再造是拯救香港不被垃圾淹沒的最好方法。針對飲品供應的「玻璃飲料容器生產者責任計劃」已在本月1日實施，法例要求玻璃樽裝飲料供應商，必須先向環保署登記繳交循環再造徵費，才可在本港發售玻璃樽裝飲品，而每公升徵費0.98元。
